Tak Matsumoto is Japan`s premier fret wizard and a world-wide renown guitarist. During his 30+ years in music industry, Tak has worked with many musicians and artists, both from Japan and the rest of the world. Some of the most notable names from the western side of the world include Steve Vai, Jack Blades and Larry Carlton. Tak`s signature line stretches throughout the Gibson Custom and Gibson USA catalogs with seven models being released up to date. Today, Gibson Custom introduces the latest addition to already astonishing collection of signature models made for Japan`s best axeman. Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Flame Maple Top is the full name of the new model. It is truly a thing of beauty and style. But, one would be utterly wrong to think that this gem is only a show piece, for it is equipped with premium quality tonewoods and supreme hardware. Double-cut body is made of one-piece mahogany back and two-piece flame maple top. Body is unchambered and carved on top. Also, it features a traditional set in neck joint. Standard Aqua Blue is the name of the color scheme, which combines the blue top and black sides and back. Nitrocellulose gloss finish and nickel-plated hardware add vibe of elegance and style. Bridge section is a standard one, it includes a tune-o-matic bridge with stoptail bar in the back. Burstbucker pickups with open zebra-coil design are installed in the front. These are machine-wound and provide enough versatility to keep player covered in all situations. Simple and effective controls unit features separate volume knobs, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck on this amazing six-stringer is made of mahogany and it rocks a custom contour in the back. Back contour is made by Tak`s personal specs. Genuine rosewood fingerboard is installed on the top of the neck. It comes with 22 medium jumbo frets, gorgeous abalone trapezoid inlays, classic 12" radius and 1-11/16" wide corian nut. Vintage-styled Green Key tuners are installed on the headstock in the classic 3+3 fashion.
