LP Special models belong to the lower portion of Gibson USA catalog, featuring very basic specs lists and the standard Gibson quality of build. Affordable price and formidable performance are, traditionally, the strongest points of the Special, and it`s widely regarded as the perfect option for younger players who want a simple, but powerful instrument. 2015 Special follows in the footsteps of it`s predecessors, offering big tone and very humble, but neat looks. Also, a majority of overall catalog improvements, such as thicker wires, brass nut, wider neck (increase from 1.695" to 1.795" width at the zero fret position) and G Force digital tuners, are implemented on this model, as well. Solid and flat mahogany body is made of high density wood and rocks the classic double-cut LP contour. Wrap around bridge with six saddles is a cropped version of the standard tune-o-matic/stoptail combo made for entry level models. Two P-90s are installed in the front. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch are found in the controls unit. One-piece mahogany neck is fit with a slim taper contour in the back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. The MSRP is set at $1,099.
