ES-335 is being refreshed and revitalized for 2015. It is now, like all the other Electric Spanish models, a part of Gibson`s Memphis division. It comes with a Standard class set of specs and features, plus some 335-exclusive appointments. This gorgeous semi-hollow double-cut comes in two colors - Cherry and Sunset Burst. Both are finished in gloss, both have nickel-plated hardware and black plastic parts. Also, the binding is creme on both variants. Maple/poplar/maple combination is used for back, sides and the top of the body (many of the basic and intermediate Gibson Memphis models for 2015 have the exact same tonewood selection). On the top, the AVR-2 bridge and locking tailpiece form the bridge unit. In its front, a pair of Burstbuckers is installed. Burstbucker 1 in the rhythm position and Burstbucker 2 in the lead position. Classic vol/vol/tone/tone set of pots and the usual three-way toggle switch comprise the controls unit. Mahogany neck is fit with a reintroduced sixties truss rod of a larger diameter, for improved neck and intonation stability. 22-fret fingerboard is made of a single piece of high grade rosewood and is fit with a set of beautiful trapezoid inlays. Grover`s Rotomatics are found on the classic ES headstock.
