With a price tag of $ 3,499, ES-335 Figured 2015 is one of the intermediate Gibson Memphis models for this model year. Considering the prices range from around $1,500 for the basic 335 and 339 Studio models, to the staggering $6,199 for a 1959 ES-335TD, this can be considered an intermediate 335. Figured 335 for 2015 is equipped with a classic double-cut ES body, set in neck with a 22-fret fingerboard on top, active Gibson electronics & pickups, top quality hardware and vintage modern styling. Starting this review with the body features and properties, the characteristic to catch our eye is the standard maple/poplar/maple construction of the body. Back, sides and top are made of three-ply maple/poplar/maple laminates (figured maple is used for the top). On the top, Gibson installs also a standard two-piece bridge unit, made up of a TonePros AVR-2 bridge and a locking stoptail bar. Ultra popular Burstbucker 1 (rhythm position) and Burstbucker 2 (lead position) make up the pickups section, while the classic Gibson controls unit accompanies them. Mahogany neck is fit with the reintroduced sixties truss rod and the historic C profile. 22-fret rosewood fingerboard is made of a single piece of top grade rosewood and features low profile frets (2015 standard) and bone nut. Grover`s Milk Bottle Rotomatic tuners cap off the specs list.
