Limited Edition Explorer Blackout is just about the heaviest and most sinister Explorer ever built by Gibson. Also, this titan ranks among the most extreme Gibsons ever made, including all the series, limited editions and one-off models. It follows a traditional Explorer recipe and adds extreme electronics. Solid and single-cut mahogany body has the familiar angular contour with a flat top and flat back. There are no top covers on this Explorer and the only color option is Ebony with black binding around the rosewood fingerboard, black chrome hardware and glossy finish. On the top of the black-clad body, Gibson installs a classic two-piece bridge unit and a pair of Dirty Fingers humbuckers with a traditional Explorer controls unit (two volume knobs, one tone knob and a three-way toggle pickup switch). These humbuckers are able to cause a minor earthquake, so extreme caution is advised to players who are not up for the game of wild beast taming. Mahogany neck is slim, fast and feels very nice in hand. On it`s top, the 22-fret fingerboard features split diamond inlays, 1.695" nut and 12" radius. The MSRP for this sinister Exp is set at $1.999.
