The mighty Explorer made its debut some six decades ago and has remained mostly unchanged over the course of the years. Minor tweaks & adjustments happened sporadically, but the overall concept and the idea of a futuristic hard rocking axe were nailed back then in 1957. The new 2018 lineup brings the limited edition Explorer Elite model along with it. This Elite-class beast is a six-stringed rock machine with super-elegant styling, a commanding presence, and mesmerizing tone. Aged Cherry (w/gold hardware, black plastics, black headstock) is the only one available. Other features include a solid and flat mahogany body (classic Explorer pickguard, no top, no binding), a slim taper mahogany neck (set-in, satin-finished), a 22-fret baked Granadillo fingerboard, a two-piece hardtail bridge, Burstbucker pickups (w/gold covers), and Grover tuners.
