Flying V is one of the icons of hard rock music, a dream guitar for many a player young and old. Since its reintroduction in 1968, it`s been a fixture in Gibson USA, Custom and Epiphone catalogs. This year`s USA catalog has two V models, one Traditional and one High Performance.
Flying V 2017 HP is a High Performance model, a roughly Standard class axe (similar features and specs to ones found on SG Standard, Firebird and Explorer). It costs $1,799, which is some $400 more than the corresponding T model. Solid and flat mahogany body, set-in mahogany neck and 22-fret granadillo fingerboard form the base of this rocking machine.
Major hardware and electronics features include Dirty Fingers humbuckers set (w/classic V controls layout), two-piece bridge unit, classic pickguard, zero-fret nut and G-Force tuners.
