Back in the early 1950s, Les Paul started out as a premier-class guitar, Gibson`s exclusive model. But, by the time the 60s rolled around, Les Paul range also had successful budget models, such as Melody Maker, Jr, Special, etc. Junior and Special models went on to achieve great fame and popularity, becoming iconic guitars in their own rights. The new 2018 catalog brings one new Special - Les Paul Special Double Cutaway 2018. It is a simple, solid, flat-top guitar, with TV Yellow paintjob, chrome hardware, black plastics. The MSRP is set at $1,539. Other notable features include a solid mahogany body (no top, no binding, tortoise pickguard), a set-in mahogany neck (slim taper profile, gloss finish), a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (bound edges, dot inlays, 1.695" nut, 24.75" scale), a wraparound bridge, Gibson P90 pickups, and vintage tuners.
