When it comes to rare and exclusive Les Pauls, many a players would first think of the Gibson`s Custom division. But, this time they`d all be wrong as Les Paul Sunken Treasure proudly waves the Gibson USA flag. It costs $3,999, which significantly more than 2016 Traditional T ($2,299) with which it bears the most similarities. Sunken Treasure is a limited run model made of reclaimed wood and top quality hardware and electronics. Natural and River Green options are available.
The body of Les Paul Sunken Treasure is made of mahogany base with modern weight relief system and carved mahogany top (a rare feature, indeed) with creme binding around the edges. The neck is made of mahogany, as well. It is rounded in the back and has a 22-fret fingerboard made of bulletwood on top (22 frets, trapezoid inlays, 1.695" tektoid nut and 12" radius).
Gibson`s `57 Classic pickups provide a well balanced and smooth rock tone with a tight low end. Standard issue controls unit is installed with these pickups. Vintage Keystone tuners and a two-piece bridge (tune-o-matic bridge in the front and stoptail bar in the back) are also found among the major features.
