Gibson and twelve string electrics have had a long and prosperous relationship for decades and it continues with all the glory and style. New twelve-stringer is a Les Paul, despite the predecessors being ES and SG models. This LP will carry the torch of Gibson in the electric twelve-string world. Not many manufacturers dare make such an instrument, for it needs expert skills to balance the tone and behavior of such an instrument, especially if strong pickups come into the picture. But, the new Les Paul Traditional 12-String is a masterpiece and the new leader in it`s segment. It kicks off with a recognizable iconic Les Paul single cutaway body. Construction-wise, this model is equipped with set-in joint and it`s weight relieved according to the modern LP standards. Body is made of mahogany base and maple top. Top is carved and bound in traditional creme binding. Top panel also features a vintage-styled elevated pickguard. Bridge section is a traditional setup often seen on Gibson`s guitars. IT features a tune-o-matic bridge with six doubled saddles. It is plated in chrome and paired with a stop tail bar. Pickups on this Les Paul are laid out in H/H pattern. Active humbuckers installed are '57 Classic Plus in the bridge and '57 Classic in the neck. These bad boys are controlled with a standard control unit, which consists of separate volume and tone knobs. Pickup switching is done with a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it sports a thin '60s contour in the back. It is set-in and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 22 frets, figured acrylic trapezoid inlays, 1.75" wide corian nut and 12" radius complete the fingerboard. Tuners installed on the headstock are mini Grovers and the scale measures standard 24-3/4". Color options available for this model are Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Goldtop and Ebony. All are finished in high gloss. The MSRP for Les Paul Traditional 12-String is set at $3,299.
