Limited Run ES-Les Paul VOS for 2015 is one of fourteen limited edition models Gibson Memphis has unveiled at this year`s NAMM. It brings the classic 1950s Gold Top Les Paul with vintage semi-hollow (ES) construction. With VOS treatment, this gorgeous ES Les Paul brings out the best of both worlds, and marries them into a near perfect guitar. For starters, Gibson Memphis has decided on the maple/poplar/maple panels for the back, sides and the top, along with the standard ES-LP center block. Back and top are both arched and bound in creme binding. Following the Gold Top tradition, only the top is painted in gold, while the rest of the body and the back of the neck feature dark brown paint. On he top, this semi-hollow LP is fit with a two-piece bridge unit with a locking stoptail bar, and a pair of active MHS humbuckers with a traditional set of controls. Mahogany neck, attached to the body via the mortise & tenon joint, is fit with a larger diameter truss rod with teflon coating and a brass anchor. On its top, the one-piece neck is fit with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard also made of a single piece of wood. Rolled edges with creme binding, low profile frets, trapezoid inlays and 1.70" wide bone nut make up the fingerboard. Vintage Kluson tuners are featured on the modified headstock (neck/headstock transition area is now thicker for additional strength and neck durability). With a $3,699 price tag, this exclusive single-cut ES ranks among the intermediate Gibson Memphis models.
