Gibson`s X series is continued with the LPX model, the X variant of the classic Les Paul. As opposed to the Firebird X which was thrown into the uncharted regions, LPX is walking a fairly familiar route. It inherited a lot of stuff, majority of electronics and the software, from the Firebird and builds on. Body of this model is solid, single cut and made of maple back with flamed maple top. Classic body contour, 24-3/4" scale, 1.695" nut width, 12" fingerboard radius, set in neck joint and the tilted headstock with 3+3 tuners installed on it remind the player that he`s still playing an LP, but the electronics give him the possibility to play virtually any guitar he desires. There are three Gibson minibucker pickups installed in the regular pickups department. They`re accompanied by a piezo pickup integrated into the bridge. Bridge section is equipped with a tune-o-matic bridge and the stoptail bar in the back. Set in neck is made of mahogany and it features the classic slim taper contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a 22-fret fingerboard made of granadilo. Dot inlays and standard-sized frets complete the fingerboard. Headstock is fit with a set of high tech Robohead tuning machines with an impressive 24:1 gear ratio. These tuners also have the ability to automatically keep the strings in tune and switch between the selected tunings. Pickups controls include master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch in the conventional section. There`s also the Gear Shift knob, the key controls component. It has 11 rotary positions and is used to switch between the modes of operation, as well as to select particular patches and tunings from the library. There are also two three-way toggle switches. Blue one models the tone, while the red one deals with distortion type. Silver knob switches between the standard pickups and the piezo mode. These two can also be used mixed together and be hooked up to separate amps. On-board computer is equipped with Ableton Live Lite 8 Gibson Studio Edition and Guitar Rig 4 Pro. To connect to a PC, or laptop, LPX uses the external G-Node sound card which is included in the package. Also, there is the foot-switch board which connects with the system through bluetooth. Besides all this, the pack includes the programmable Bluetooth Continuous pedal.

Anybody out there knows how to set the piezo pick-up to a separate amp. I have three Musican mans with piezo pick-ups and they use a stero chord. I have the manuel on this but I can't find how to hook it up. [email protected].
