Nitrous Les Paul Studio is a brand new model and an instant qualifier for the hottest LP Studio variant ever made. It`s owed to the facts that Gibson builds this one with completely reconstructed weight relief and that 498T from bridge and 490R from neck positions can now be split through volume knobs with push/pull switches. Furthermore, already attractive stripped down Les paul Studio concept is made even more attractive with a choice of four insanely attractive color options. Cosmic Cobalt, Electric Lime, Vibrant Red and Orange Glow come with nitrocellulose lacquer finish and light burst along the edges. Body of this model is made of mahogany base with carved maple cap, a foundation upon which Les Paul Studios have been built for past three decades. Now it comes with a completely new distribution of weight relief chambers. Top is carved and unbound. also, there is no pickguard installed on the top. Bridge section is equipped with a tune-o-matic bridge/stoptail bar combination, just like countless LPs before this one. It`s a combo that best suits LP and that`s accompanied it`s models the most throughout the glorious 60 years. Pickups combo contains a pair of Gibson`s most popular modern pickups: 498T in the bridge and 490R in the neck. Both come with Alnico II magnets and both can now be split. Separate volume and tone knobs are accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Volume knobs are equipped with push/pull switches. Mahogany neck is equipped with '60s contour and mortise & tenon joint. On top of the neck Gibson installs a granadillo fingerboard. 22 frets, figured acrylic trapezoid inlays, 12" radius and 1.695" wide corian nut wrap the fingerboard specs. Tuning machines are made by Grover and are plated in chrome. Scale measures standard 24-3/4" in length. The MSRP for the Nitrous Les Paul Studio is set at $2,199.

I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! I had bought a used Les Paul Studio over 10 years ago. While it had great tone I found that the frets were too large (jumbo size), the weight was too much (like a cinder block around my neck) and the tuners had plastic knobs and did not keep the guitar in tune very well. While I knew I would miss that great Les Paul tone I sold that guitar with few regrets. I bought this guitar on Black Friday ($899) and I am so glad that I did. It is a gorgeous guitar with a Vibrant Red paint job and chrome hardware. The tuners work great, the neck is is slim, fast and comfortable with regular sized frets. The overall weight is so comfortable it feels like you could play the guitar for days. The lighter weight does not affect the spectacular Les Paul tone from the dual humbuckers. The bridge pickup rocks hard and the neck pickup delivers a great, sweet tone. The fact that Gibson provided coil taps is icing on the cake - it makes this guitar so much more versatile. I have seen reviews that complain that the coil taps stick out too far. Really? It is not noticeable to me and even if they did stick out they will not get in the way of your playing this gorgeous guitar. I would recommend this guitar to any Les Paul fan. This model was a limited run is now discontinued so be prepared to see their prices rise once word gets out about what a great guitar this is.
