Rudolf Schenker, the legend and the powerhouse of riffs and solos behind one of the world`s most successful bands ever, the Scorpions, has got another signature guitar introduced by Gibson`s USA division. This tireless rocker has been the driving force behind Scorpions for more than four decades and is also one of the most influential and respected riff masters of all time. His love for Gibson`s Flying V guitars dates back to the early days of his career with Scorpions and Vs have become one of the trademarks of Scorpions stage image. This brand new V bearing Rudolph`s name is an excellent effort from Gibson to capture the essence of both attitude and tone of the legendary Teutonic rocker. Gibson name has become, over the years, synonymous with all-mahogany construction and Rudolph Schenker V is no exception to this magnificent tradition. Solid, flat on top and slightly vintage-styled, body of this beautiful V is made of mahogany. Split Black & White color scheme has appeared on almost all of the previous signature models of both Rudolf and Michael Schenker and has become sort of an emblem for the Scorpions. On this particular axe, it is the only option in the color palette. It`s finished in gloss. Body and headstock are decorated with a mix of vintage and modern-styled hardware with chrome plating. Tuners on the headstock feature modern construction and guarantee the best possible tuning stability with 14:1 gear ratio. These are installed in the classic 3+3 pattern and are matched with a classic two-piece bridge unit on the opposite end of the standard 24-3/4" scale. Both the Tonepros tune-o-matic bridge and the stoptail bar behind it are plated in chrome. Pickups department on this gorgeous six-string rocker are Gibson`s price and joy, the '57 Classics. With perfect blend of heat in the bridge and cream in the neck position, these buckers offer everything from sizzling leads to chugging riffs and mesmerizing clean passages. Bluesy lead tone is also available from the neck pickup. Standard controls configuration includes two independent volume knobs and a master tone pot. Pickup switch is Gibson`s classic three-way toggle. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s back contour is made by Rudolph`s exact specs. 0.775" width at the 1st fret and 0.900" at the 12th fret guarantee a solid grip, while still being comfortable enough for the blazing solos. On it`s top, Gibson installs a top-grade Granadillo hardwood fingerboard with 22 standard-sized frets. Frets are marked with acrylic dot inlays. The MSRP for this magnificent rocker is set at $2,498.
