Gibson USA represents another addition to already wide selection of Les Paul models with Shred Les Paul Studio. This is a Les Paul with Studio line appointments, but instead of a tune-o-matic and stoptail, there is Floyd Rose double locking tremolo bridge. Shred Les Paul Studio comes as a chamber-bodied single cutaway model made of mahogany back and maple top. This one is available only in ebony color with nitrocellulose gloss finish. The top is carved and features no binding or pickguards. The bridge is Floyd Rose original bridge piece. It is plated in chrome and paired with a locking string nut. Pickups on this shredder are two active humbuckers. Bridge position features PAF 498T with Alnico V magnets and neck position`s got PAF 490R with Alnico II magnets. Controls department consists of split volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way toggle switch. The neck on this model is in Gibson tradition made of mahogany and equipped with '50s Studio shape with mortise & tenon joint. The fingerboard is made of richlite and features 22 frets, figured acrylic trapezoid inlays and 1.70" wide nut. Fingerboard radius and scale length measure standard 12" and 24-3/4", respectively. Chrome hardware and Tonepros vintage style tuning machines complete the spec. The MSRP for Shred Les Paul Studio is set at $2,369.
