Electromatic Hollowbody is a single-cut guitar with vintage styling and vintage tone. Gretsch catalog is based on models such as this one, fully hollow guitars which replicate the styling and tone of early rock and roll music. What separates them from the competition is the unique ratio of quality and price policy. While being mostly above the average and budget-friendly zone, Gretsch models are attainable for a vast majority of 1950s music fans. This particular Electromatic offers a fully hollow single-cut body made of maple. Five different color options are featured in the color palette. This archtop six-stringer is equipped with a classic three-piece bridge unit with Bigsby vibrato. Dynasonic single coils are installed in the front. Set in maple neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

These are great guitars for the money due to the Dyna-sonic pickups. I have a discontinued 5217 (baby Blue) the build is great, with good semi acoustic sounds but the pickups are great for that great Gretsch twang! Rockabilly heaven. Later models came with mini humbuckers and are not quite the same. I bought mine second hand and when I changed the strings the nut came off, which does show where cuts in build quality are. It came with a replacement bridge to help with tuning stability to help with the Bigsby. Great if you can hunt one of these babies down!
