X-175B Manhattan with Bigsby is one of the brand new models introduced by Guild Guitars for 2013. Along with other seven models, it comprises the Newark St Collection series. This series is represented in order to revive the electric guitar section of Guild catalog. Back in the 1950s and '60s Guild electrics were a hit, though they declined and disappeared from the catalog in later years. This time, Guild has chosen eight exquisite models with vintage styling and top quality wood selection to represent the new electric guitars department. X-175B Manhattan with Bigsby is a fully hollow guitar with single-cut construction and set in neck. It is made of laminated maple back and sides with laminated spruce sound board on top. Laminated construction allows the tone to resonate better and give livelier tone. Bridge is a tune-o-matic with rosewood base. In it`s back Guild installs a Bigsby vibrato and tailpiece behind it. Guild single-coil pickups are installed in both the bridge and neck positions. Two volume knobs and one tone knob comprise the controls unit. Pickup switch is a three-way toggle. Three piece neck is made of two pieces of mahogany and one piece of maple. 20-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood. Grover tuners on the headstock and 24-3/4" scale complete the specs list for X-175B Manhattan.
