XL-2 is currently the basic model of the XL series made by Hagstrom. This series offers a pair of soloist-shaped guitars made for all the shredders to feast their eyes, as well as fingers. XL-2 sports a 48mm thick basswood body, solid of course. Flamed maple veneer is applied on the top, a nod to the legends from the '80s which kick-started the entire soloist/superstrat story. Bridge section features a tremolo bridge, much like the ones seen on Fender models and it has string-through construction. Pickups are laid out in H/H configuration, there is no single coil in the middle. Neck on this model is made of maple and it is set in. It is topped with a standard 24-fret resinator fingerboard.
