In it`s beginnings, Monaco series of electric guitars was based on the Les Paul design and construction. Over the time, Monaco six-stringers have gained both their visual and sonic identity and are now among the most luxurious and distinctive models in the Les Paul family of single-cuts. Hamer`s characteristic styling and use of different materials has set the Monaco apart from the competition. Also, when Hamer`s custom shop level of craftsmanship weighs in, Monaco models shine in full glory. Usually, bodies are semi hollow and made of mahogany backs with spruce tops. On Superpro variant, it is semi-hollow mahogany back with flamed maple top. Classic two-piece bridge section is fronted by a pair of custom made Seymour Duncan humbuckers. Mahogany is used for the neck, as well and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard covers it.
