Ibanez hollow bodied models have great tradition and heavy burden of fantastic legacy to live up to. Nevertheless, Ibanez continues to reach new heights with new models. AFJ85 is one of the new hollow-bodies represented just before the 2012 NAMM where it will be exhibited along with other novelties. AFJ85 starts off with a hollow single cutaway body made of spruce top and flame maple back and sides. The top is arched and adorned with creme binding and two "f" holes. The black pickguard compliments the vintage sunburst color. The bridge on this model is an ART bridge made of wood especially for the Ibanez hollow-bodies. It is combined with a trapezoid tailpiece. The pickups are two humbuckers laid out one in the bridge and one in the neck position.Controls consist of split volume and tone knobs with a three-way toggle as a pickup switch. The neck is made of three pieces of maple and mahogany with Artcore contour and set-in joint. The rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets with block inlays. The MSRP for this model is set at $691.
