Artcore Expressionist Electric Guitars by Ibanez
AFJ957 is the first ever Ibanez jazz guitar with seven string construction. It was introduced into the catalog at NAMM show this January. As the base for this model, Ibanez used a guitar also unveiled at NAMM 2013, the AFJ95. Along with these two, AFJ91 and AF95TDG form the Artcore Expressionist series, which is the new branch of the Artcore segment. AFJ957 comes with basically the same specs list as the six-stringed model. Body is fully hollow, single-cut and made of flamed maple and spruce. Flamed maple is top grade and it`s used for the back and sides, with spruce being used only for the top. Creme binding around the edges, bound "f" holes and elevated pickguard decorate the body of this model. Fixed bridge has a wooden base and it`s backed up by a trapezoid tailpiece. In it`s front Ibanez installs a pair of ACH-7 active humbuckers. Standard controls unit is used on this one. Neck is made of three-pieces of mahogany and maple and it`s topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
