GRG7221 is the first hardtail seven-stringer in the GRG line. For that matter, it is the first GRG seven string model in history. AS all GRG axes, this one is modeled after the cult RG range models, and is meant to be the introductory option for beginners and players on a strained budget. What we have here is a solid poplar body with a bolted maple neck and passive electronics. Infinity humbuckers featured on the body are well known to Ibanez aficionados from the standard RG350DX, and similar models. These pups deliver the classic Ibanez tone which made the RG so popular among the metalheads around the world. Besides these bad boys, RGR7221 also features a seven-saddled hardtail bridge, bolted GRG maple neck, die-cast tuners and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
