Mick Thomson Electric Guitars by Ibanez
Mick Thompson and Ibanez have had a very successful cooperation for years, but now, for summer 2012, Mick`s line of signature models is significantly refreshed. MTM1 and MTM2 models were based upon the RG series, while the new MTM10 and MTM100 come from the X series. This new, edgier and more aggressive body offers a lot more sustain and tone strength due to it`s size, which is considerably larger than that of RG models. MTM10 is the basic model of the new lineup and it comes with a double cutaway X-shaped body. It is made of mahogany with no top wood or pickguard installed. This body features black binding around the top. Bridge section features a fixed variant of Edge III tremolo bridge. There is no tremolo bar on this one, but the locking nut is still there. This down-tuned beast features a pair of Seymour Duncan HB-105MT active humbucking pickups. These bad boys are controlled through a single volume knob and three-position blade switch. Neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and maple and it is bolted to the body. Slim MTM contour graces the back of the neck, while the top sports a rosewood fingerboard. Fingerboard specs are as follows: 24 jumbo-sized frets, no inlays, 15-3/4" radius and 1.69" wide string nut. This model will hit the stores during the summer this year.
