PS40 is one of two models in the revamped Paul Stanley signature series. The Paul Stanley line is being revived for the NAMM 2015 and PS40 is it`s basic model. It ranks among other opening level signatures, such as JS10 and others. Despite the very similar looks it shares with it`s more expensive sibling, the classy PS120, PS40 is a true workhorse and an all-round axe. Studio, smaller gig venues and rehearsals are where this black-clad rocker feels best. In terms of quality for the money, PS40 almost has no equal on the market. Solid Iceman body of the PS40 is made entirely of poplar, while the neck is made of maple, instead of mahogany (PS120 features mahogany body and neck). Full Tune III bridge unit with a custom Paul Stanley tailpiece is featured on the top. In it`s front, the mighty Seymour Duncans are replaced by somewhat more discreet Infinity R humbuckers. Maple neck is made of a single piece of wood and rocks the series standard PS profile in the back. On the top, a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with plain dot inlays replaces the fancy ebony fingerboard of the PS120. Die-cast tuning machines, simple creme binding around the body and the series standard set of controls complete the list of specs.
