2015 lineup of the classy RG Prestige series is being updated with a quartet of new models. All of them are fit with 24-fret maple fingerboards, superior DiMarzio pickups and classic RG construction features. RG852MPB is one of them, and is the only eight-string model of the bunch. It comes with a solid and double-cut body made of basswood base and poplar burl top. The gorgeous burl top is offered only in Ghost Fleet Blue Burst. The haunting beauty of the body top/headstock color scheme is one of many features which sets this 27"-scaled giant apart from the rest of the eight-stringers on the market. Further inspection of the specs list reveals an eight-saddled Gibraltar bridge installed on the top. It rocks the classic Cosmo Black plating, while the strings run through the body beneath it. DiMarzio`s passive PAF 8 humbuckers come with a standard RG controls unit - master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch. Five-piece maple neck is attached to the body via the standard bolt-on joint, and rocks the Ultra 8 profile (probably the fastest eight-string neck available today). Said 24-fret maple fingerboard has jumbo-sized frets, simple black dot inlays and 2.16" wide TUSQ nut. Set of eight Gotoh Magnum tuners is installed on the modified RG headstock (headstock is reshaped to accommodate four tuenrs on the upper and four on the lower side).
