Finally, here is the long awaited left-hand variant of the RG8 model introduced back in 2012. It comes with an eight-saddle fixed bridge with string-through construction, as Ibanez still does not make eight-stringers with tremolo, or locking bridges. Pickups are made by Ibanez and come in H/H configuration. Made for extreme styles of metal music, these pickups surprisingly well handle the milder types of music, as well. Master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Scale on this model is 27" long and, for now eight stringers are the only instruments with exclusively baritone scales. Only special six and seven-stringers feature them. Neck on this model is made of five pieces of maple and walnut. It is equipped with bolt-on joint and Wizard contour in the back. On it`s top Ibanez installs a standard 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. It has dot position inlays, 55mm string nut and 15-3/4" radius. Body sports a standard RG contour with flat top, contoured back and gloss finish. It`s made of basswood.
