S series finally steps into the eight string territory and it steps with style. S series classic design just looks stunning on this new eight-string beast. Savagely brutal tone is masterfully countered with a classy and elegant design and makes this model both a beauty and a beast. S8 is equipped with a solid, double-cut body with carved top. It is made entirely of mahogany, which spells growling low end and truck loads of sustain. Back side is carved on this model to make it easier to play in standing position. Black is the only color scheme available for this model and it is finished in gloss. Black is the overall theme color, for the hardware is black, as well. There is no binding or pickguard to break the domination of black color on this model. Bridge is an eight-saddle Gibraltar with string-through-body construction. In it`s front, a pair of IBZ-8 humbukers is installed. Standard controls unit follows them. Neck is made of five pieces of maple and walnut and it`s equipped with Wizard contour in the back adjusted for a wide neck. On it`s top Ibanez installs a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
