RG Premium is the series that ranks just below the Prestige and it delivers the ultimate instruments for hard working musicians who need a stable, sturdy guitar in their arsenal. RG921QMF is a result of player`s request, for Premium models started out as tremolo-equipped guitars exclusively. The bridge used on this model is derived from the famed Edge tremolo series, stripped of tremolo arm and locked into place to give an unbelievable level of stability. It comes with Ibanez cosmo black paint job and six saddles. The body on this 921 is made of solid American basswood and it is equipped with double cutaway and a bolted neck joint. The top features a quilted maple cap with no binding or pickguards. Cobalt Blue Surge and Red Desert are color options available for this model. Both options are finished in gloss. In the pickups area, Ibanez went for a passive humbucker combo made by DiMarzio. These are two humbuckers made especially for Ibanez guitars. IBZ-B is in the bridge and IBZ-N in the neck position. They are controlled through a simple layout of master volume and master tone knobs. The pickup switch is a five-position blade, even though the configuration includes only two pickups. Position two splits the coils and position four uses the neck pickup with parallel wiring. The neck is made of five pieces of maple and walnut and equipped with ultra fast Wizard Premium contour. This neck is bolted to the body and topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard. 24 jumbo sized frets on this fingerboard are covered with offset dot position inlays.
