S420 is one of the best examples of what the S series is all about. It has a solid, double cut body made of mahogany in it`s entirety. Both the back and top side are carved and contoured. This one does not feature binding and pickguards. Also, there is no top wood cover installed. Body of S420 is paired with a three-piece maple neck. It is bolted to the body and topped with a standard 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Fingerboard also features special 12th fret inlay and 1.69" wide locking nut. Ibanez installs a standard ZR II bridge on the opposite side of the 25-1/2" scale. In front of the bridge, three pickups are installed, bridge and neck humbuckers and middle single coil.
