Sam Totman of Dragonforce is among the premier power metal guitar slingers of today. Their virtuoso approach to the music creation and performance really pushes the boundaries of both the instruments and equipment. Thus, it was a great challenge for Ibanez to create a guitar for Sam. Luckily, the STM3 which was introduced at this year`s NAMM, is the perfect fit. It comes in with the vintage Iceman body, full 25-1/2" scale, passive electronics and lightning-fast neck. There`s only one color scheme available for this beast - Metallic Grey Sunburst. STM3 kicks off with a solid and single-cut mahogany body and a bolted maple neck with Wizard III profile. Slim and narrow in the back, the neck is topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard (1.69" locking nut, 15.75" radius, trapezoid inlays and white binding around the edges). Electronics unit is equipped with a pair of Quantum humbuckers. These passive/ceramic pickups offer a fairly high output and great dynamics. Besides their obvious shredding nature, they can show their more soulful side to more skilled and versatile players. Master volume knob and three-way toggle switch keep things simple in the controls section. Edge Zero-II bridge and die-cast tuners complete the specs list.
