Pro DKA Dinky 7 is one of two Dinky models introduced into the PRO series for 2013. This one is a seven-stringed beast with solid, double-cut body. The other one has eight strings. Both of them feature elongated scales, 26-1/2", to be precise. It is done in order to maintain tight tone in dropped tunings. DKA 7 comes with a double-cut Dinky body made of alder. It`s carved on top and features no top wood cover. Also, Jackson does not install pickguards on this model. Bridge section brings a hardtail bridge with seven saddles and string-through body construction. This type of construction adds a lot to the tuning stability and intonation. Pickups are DiMarzio humbuckers. Both the bridge and neck position feature Deactivators made for seven-stringed guitars. Master volume, master tone, killswitch knob and a five-position pickup selector comprise the controls unit. Neck on this model is made of maple and it`s bolted to the body. It is topped with a 24-fret fingerboard made of maple. Frets are jumbo-sized and inlays are offset dots. Planet Waves supplies the tuning machines for this model. All in all this one is a mighty axe made for metalheads with taste in passive electronics.
