S2 series is a novelty PRS introduces for the summer of 2013 and it`s mission is to offer the genuine upscale quality of PRS guitars for a more affordable price. In no way are these guitars affordable and budget-friendly, but when compared to the main series, S2`s $1,200-$1,400 range seems rather reasonable and affordable. Especially, because the S2 models take away nothing from the authentic PRS experience. The playability, tone and build quality are on the top level, so the styling had to suffer. These are also a lot less decorated than the top PRS models. S2 Starla is a solid, and single-cut model, as opposed to the pair of double-cuts which comprise the rest of the initial S2 lineup. Body of this gorgeous single-cut is solid, equipped with beveled top and made of mahogany. There is no top wood cover on the top. Tune-o-matic bridge is backed up with a Bigsby vibrato bar and fronted with a pair of active S2 Starla humbuckers. Master volume, master tone and a three-position pickup switch complete the controls unit. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The MSRP for S2 Starla is set at $1,249.
