SE Floyd Custom is one of the latest additions to the awesome SE series and, most definitely, the answer to the prayers of many a hard rocking guitarists out there. With the sleek classic PRS double-cut design, rock solid construction and simple, yet deadly hardware and electronics layout, PRS SE Floyd Custom 24 is a game-changing axe. Sonically, it is able to take the player on a beyond-the-words epic journey through sweet and mellow jazzy chords on the clean channel, beefy and soul-drenched blues licks, to chunky rocking rhythm and biting metal riff carnage. On the mellow end of the spectre, SE Floyd Custom 24 offers the the most genuine single-coil tone found on a dual humbucker guitar in the existence, as the SE HFS Treble and SE Vintage Bass humbuckers can be split via the push/pull switch mounted on the tone pot. With the push/pull switch engaged, these tone monsters pitch in somewhere between the classic Fender single-coil twang and the muscular and raw P-90 tone. Taking a 180 degree turn and cranking it up to 11, we find that this rather conservative looking double-cut can run with the wildest in the six-string pack. When fully unleashed over the 24 frets and supported by the surprisingly well behaved 1000 series Floyd Rose bridge, can be as brutal as any "metal axe" out there. Wailing Slayer solos, pulverizing Machine Head riffs and brutal Pantera breakdowns are all within the grasp of this killer six-string. The all-round, heavy-duty chasis of this six-string green beret consists of a solid mahogany body, beveled maple top, set in maple neck with wide thin contour, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard and PRS-designed tuners.
