As fall 2012 comes, the mighty Blackjack series is getting even stronger. Even though it is a young line, itself, Schecter decided to power it up with some Special Edition models. It is the best of the SLS features plus a little extra that is the recipe for these models. One of them is Blackjack SLS V-7 FR Special Edition, which is the twin model to Blackjack SLS V-7 Special Edition, with the only exception being the bridge construction. Other than that, these two are pretty much the same. Concept of seven-stringed V guitar was realised before, but with SLS V-7 models, it appears as though Schecter invented it. Solid, V-contoured mahogany body is made with flat top and black binding around it. Schecter installs mo top wood veneers or pickguards on this one. Bridge section is a familiar one, it is Schecter`s favorite tremolo option for upscale models, it is a Floyd Rose 1000 series double locking bridge. This bridge is, as is the rest of the hardware, plated in black chrome. On the opposite side of the 26-1/2" scale, there is a locking nut. Pickups are provided by Seymour Duncan and are seven-string adjusted Active Blackouts. They come with a control unit same as tune-o-matic V-7 SLS, master tone, split volume knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Simple and deadly effective. Neck is a standard series feature, it is made of three pieces of maple and it features a set-in joint with ultra access. On top of this neck, Schecter installs an ebony fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets and offset dot position inlays. Tuning machines installed on the headstock are Grovers with black chrome plating. The MSRP is set at $1,449.
