Back in the 80s, drop tuning and down tuning entered the rock and metal world big time. E flat and drop D tunings, mostly. By the early `90s, every other band had heavily down-tuned axes and E standard was pushed aside. But, before long, the limit was hit as the standard scaled guitars could not provide enough tension for the strings. Everything lower than drop B tuning and the sound was just a sloppy, noisy mess. In their search for the lower tone, players went two ways. Some added extra strings, while the others went long-scale. Some of the latter went so far that they`ve blurred the line between a bass and a guitar.
With six strings, regular EMG guitar humbuckers and 30" scale, Schecter`s Hellraiser C-VI LH is somewhere in between. It comes with a solid mahogany/quilt maple body clad in Black Cherry scheme, set mahogany neck with C contour, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, Schecter tuners and bridge, EMG 81TW/89R pickups combo with coil-splitting and abalone embellishments.
