As one of the most respected and hardest working musicians of the extreme metal scene, Marti Montazeri (Superjoint Ritual, Walk Through Exits Only and many others) has more than deserved a signature guitar. And, finally, at this year`s NAMM Washburn and Marti have unveiled the Priestess - an Explorer-like six-string with one of the most brutal specs lists around. The seductive and dangerous Priestess is clad in white, and has black hardware as contrast. Solid and flat body of this metal machine is made of mahogany in its entirety, and is paired with a set-in neck also made of mahogany. Fat and juicy custom-wound MM Seymour Duncan humbuckers provide a wall of sound which can cut through any mix without breaking a sweat. Quite clearly, the soft and mushy ballads aren`t what this beast was made for, as the works of Superjoint Ritual and Walk Through Exits Only can attest. Master volume, two tones and a three-way toggle switch keep things neat and simple in the controls department. Set mahogany neck is super fast and quite comfortable in hand. On its top, Washburn installs a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with split block inlays and a locking string nut. Black Grover tuner with 18:1 ratio and double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo bridge complete the list of specs.
