RX series from Washburn deals with solid-bodied and double-cut axes with rock and hard rock as their primary stylistic orientation. These models are Washburn`s take on the classic Strat/Soloist story and they all compete in the affordable to intermediate class of the market. RX 40 is one of the intermediate models in this series, being ranked only behind RX 80 and 50 models. Solid, double-cut body of this six-string axe is made of mahogany back with flamed maple top. Flame Cherry Burst and Flame Tobacco Burst are the only color options. Tune-o-matic bridge has string-through construction and it`s fronted by a pair of passive humbuckers. Bolt-on maple neck has C contour in the back and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
