Original Idol Electric Guitars by Washburn
WI 64 is a model from the Original Idol series in Washburn catalog. Based on Les Paul design, these models are equipped with Washburn electronics and hardware. These appointments give them a completely new personality and tone. Design-wise, Idol models have pointy cutaway and wider bottoms. WI 64 comes with rather stripped down styling, rocking a solid, all-mahogany body with black plastic pickguard, glossy finish and chrome hardware. There is no binding around the top, nor there is a fancy top cap. Washburn installs a two-piece bridge unit on WI 64. Tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar are plated in chrome and fronted by a pair of Washburn WB603 humbuckers. One-piece mahogany neck is set in and topped with a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

The first thing I thought when I got my WI-64 was that it felt like a Gibson. A bit of filing on the nut and I fell in love with it immediately. Always wanted a Washburn. Not exactly a top-shelf model, but it looks good in the collection and is fun to play.
