X is the name of Washburn`s line of double-cut electric guitars made primarily for metal music. They are designed and built to compete against the countless modern double-cuts from Japanese brands.X 40PRO is one of the upscale models in this series and it comes with a solid, double-cut body made of alder. Black and Transparent Blue are both finished in high gloss and matched with black hardware. Construction-wise, body of this model has carved top and bolt-on neck joint. Double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo bridge is fronted by a pair of open-coil humbuckers. Master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch complete the controls unit. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
