AEX1500 is an intermediate model from the Yamaha`s Hollow series. It comes with a fully hollow and single-cut body made of sycamore. All panels are laminated, which allows the tone to reverberate and project with more ease. This jazzy single-cut is best when used for jazz and jazz-like music. It`s sweet and smooth tone comes from the pair of Yamaha`s minibucker pickups. These are installed in both the bridge and neck positions and have a series standard controls unit. Master volume and master tone knobs are accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Bridge behind the pickups is made of ebony base and bone saddle. In it`s back, Yamaha installs a gold-plated tailpiece. Set in maple neck is topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard.

An excellent guitar with superb build quality. It has a sweet, warm tone using either the mini humbucker, under saddle piezo or blend of both. This is a very versatile guitar which is very comfortable to play. It will produce feedback at high volumes, unless a notch filter, or other device is used. I’ve found it excellent for finger picking, chord melody, but, it is just as happy being strummed, or picked using a plectrum. I’ve currently an Epiphone Joe Pass, Ibanez Pat Metheny, Ibanez LGB30, Gibson ES349, Yamaha AES1500B, Yamaha SA2200, Yamaha NCX700, Yamaha APX9C, Yamaha SF1000, Fender Deluxe USA HH QMT Telecaster, Fender Deluxe USA Strat, Fender Custom Shop Jeff Beck Strat, Fender Limited Edition Jazzmaster & Vicente Sanchis Model Torres. The Yamaha brand cannot be faulted, each of the six models I have is superb, plays in tune, stays in tune, the necks are second to none, and I’d not hesitate to recommend them. Whether this is your first jazz guitar or second, or just an addition to your growing collection, it will not fail to give satisfaction. I’ve been playing for 39 years and have owned many guitars – my current eclectic selection is pretty static, there’s none that I’d wish to change or trade ….
