With the penultimate model of the series, Fender is slowly putting the wraps on one of the most exciting limited edition lines of the year.
The introduction of the 10 for `15 series at this year`s NAMM has announced a year knitted with exciting and never before seen Strats and Teles. And as the months unwrapped, the new 10 for `15 models came one after another unveiling some of the most creative takes on the Fender classics. The variety of materials and hardware used outmatches the diversity of the standard portion of the catalog, showing that Strat and Tele are so much more than alder, maple and rosewood. With the ninth model of the series, the magnificent American Vintage `52 Telecaster Korina, Fender reached back into the early fifties, the time when Telecaster was being shaped into an icon it is today. Back then, swamp ash and korina were primary body materials across the industry, while the now omnipresent alder was nowhere as popular. This awesome Telecaster represents how an actual Korina Telecaster might have looked and sounded back in 1952.
As its name says, Fender American Vintage `52 Telecaster Korina comes with a solid and single-cut body made entirely of korina. It is known that korina yields a strong, warm tone similar to mahogany, which gives a nice twist to the classic Telecaster twang. There`s only one color option available with this rocking machine, the Blackguard Blonde. It is the regular fifties blonde finish with a black pickguard on top. The neck is made of maple and it features the traditional bolt-on joint. The C profile has been dropped in favor of the vintage U contour. 21-fret maple fingerboard on top completes the neck. A pair of American Vintage `52 Tele pickups bring a bit hotter rendition of that classic fifties Tele twang. The classic Tray bridge and vintage tuners are also there.
