Majestic E-II and work horse baritone guitars hit the stage.

NAMM 2015: ESP E-II & LTD Baritone Models

ESP introduces two stunning six-stringers into the E-II range and six long-scaled axes in four sub-series of the LTD`s baritone range.

Continuing the series on ESP novelties, we bring you another article filled with exciting six, seven and eight-stringers. This time around, the spotlights are fixed on the updated E-II range of the ESP catalog and newly formed Baritone segment on the LTD roster. E-ii, which acts as the ESP Standard replacement boasts two new models - E-II ST-2 refreshes the ST series and E-II Arrow kicks off the Arrow line in the E-II range. Baritone sextet is located on the LTD side of the catalog and is scattered among four series. MH series welcomes two models – MH-401B FM and MH-417B FM. V is another series with two updates – V-401B and V-407B. The only EC model is EC-407B FM, while the H series boasts the only eight-stringer ESP introduced at 2015 NAMM – gargantuan H-408B FM.

The first axe on the list is the vintage-styled E-II ST-2. Classic `80s styling is accompanied by the classic construction as well. Solid and double-cut basswood body (favorite body wood of the `80s shredders) with quilt maple top, bolted maple neck, Floyd Rose bridge, passive DiMarzio pickups and a 22-fret fingerboard (rosewood or maple, depends on the color scheme) are featured on this vintage shred machine. Further info awaits on  E-II ST-2`s detail page on chorder.com, or you can head over to the ESP Guitars official web page.

Second of two E-II six-stringers introduced at this year`s NAMM is the Mighty E-II Arrow. Hyper-modern and asymmetrical V body made of alder and through-body maple neck form the base of this hell hound. Floyd Rose bridge, EMG`s 81/85 power plant and 24-fret ebony fingerboard make sure this hot & heavy Arrow satisfies even the most demanding metalheads around. Moving on to the LTD Baritone range, we come across this basic long-scale six-stringer. MH-401B FM comes with a mahogany/flamed maple body with a through-body maple neck. Fixed bridge, EMG81/85 set of pickups and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard (LTD 400 models are not exclusive enough for ebony fingerboards) form the base of this long-scale (27” scale) work horse. Further info awaits on MH-401B FM`s detail page on chorder.com, or you can head over to the ESP Guitars official web page.

Black-clad V-401B is the second of two long-scale six-strings in the new LTD Baritone segment. 27” scale, mahogany/maple base and active electronics form the base of this mighty V. Instead of the classic 81/85 set of pickups, ESP has opted for a dual 81 pack. Rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets, Grover tuners and fixed bridge are also there. Further info awaits on V-401B`s detail page on chorder.com, or you can head over to the ESP Guitars official web page.

EC series is also taking part in this ESP/LTD Baritone revolution. Representative of the iconic EC range is the beautiful EC-407B FM. Gorgeous two-piece flame maple top is set over the mahogany back and is topped with a classic hardtail bridge and EMG extended range humbuckers. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, set maple neck beneath it and LTD tuners make up the core specs. Further info awaits on EC-407B FM`s detail page on chorder.com, or you can head over to the ESP Guitars official web page.

Also a seven-stringer, V-407B is the second of two V models in the LTD Baritone range. Essentially, this is the 401B model, but with an extra string and 81-7/707 pickups combo instead of dual 81s. Solid and flat mahogany body and set-thru maple neck give a stable base with a strong, well defined low end and chiming mids and highs. Further info awaits on V-407B`s detail page on chorder.com, or you can head over to the ESP Guitars official web page.

The third seven-string wagon on this baritone train goes by the name of MH-417B FM. It is a big, classically shaped axe with 27” scale, mahogany/flamed maple body and through-body maple neck. In the electronics department, ESP follows the series standard with EMG 81-7 in the bridge and 707 in the neck position. Further info awaits on MH-417B FM`s detail page on chorder.com, or you can head over to the ESP Guitars official web page.

ESP`s only eight-string electric guitar for 2015 is the flagship model of the LTD Baritone range. Titanic H-408B FM features a 27” scale, monster EMG 808 humbuckers and LTD hardware (both the tuners and bridge are LTD). Construction-wise, this is the standard LTD Baritone axe – mahogany wings with flamed maple top and through-body maple neck make up the base of this eight-string beast.
