Acoustic-electric basses have a lesser portion of the bass market, due to the broader range of electric ones and the versatility, which is also on the solid electric side. However, most of the manufacturers which have solid electric basses, also maintain lines of their acoustic counterparts. One such model is BG-31, an acoustic bass made by Fender Guitars. It comes with a fully hollow jumbo-shaped body made of laminated mahogany back and sides with laminated spruce sound board on top. This is one of the main combos for acoustic six and four-strings. Bridge on this model is made of rosewood and it`s matched with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Fishman piezo pickup and preamp are installed on this model. Piezo pickup is found beneath the saddle, while the preamp with volume and tone controls is set on the side of the body.
