Yngwie Malmsteen and Ovation joined forces and at the 2012 NAMM Show unveiled two brand new acoustic-electric guitars bearing Yngwie`s name and signature. YM63 Nylon String and YM68 Steel String. This page and article are about the nylon string version, the YM63. It comes with a cutaway body made of mahogany and a solid cedar top. The back of this guitar is rounded in a familiar Ovation fashion. The top is available in white color with glossy finish. Top is also adorned with two "f" holes and features no pickguards. The bridge is made of walnut with a belly shape and classical construction. There is no classic sound hole, and thus no rosette. The "f" holes are also the only sound oles on this guitar. The amplification rests in hands of Ovation OCP-1K under-saddle piezo pickup and Ovation Viper 3-band preamp with control panel mounted onto the side of the guitar. The neck is made of five pieces of mahogany and maple. Neck also features a very comfortable back contour. The fingerboard is made of top shelf ebony and equipped with 20 frets and diamond position inlays. 25-1/4" scale wraps the specs up for the YM63 Nylon String.
