MDA designation is reserved for the dreadnought models of the Masterworks series. The current lineup features four models, two completely acoustic and two amplified. MDA66 is of the non-amplified kind. Like the rest of the Masterworks models, it sports an all-solid body, a one-piece neck, gold-plated hardware, and forward-shifted scalloped X bracing. Tier 66-characteristic features include the abundant use of mahogany (entire body is made of African mahogany), soundhole rosette made of abalone, as well as acacia binding around the body and neck. MDA66 is only available in Shadowburst (w/gloss finish), and it costs $899 (MSRP). Other notable features include the standard 25-1/2" scale, 1-3/4" wide bone nut, rosewood bridge (made w/characteristic Alvarez contour, ebony pins), and paua abalone fingerboard inlays.
