AE185-12 is the 12-string variant of the AE185, the semi-hollow bodied acoustic-electric guitar. This twelve-stringer comes with a single cutaway body made of mahogany back and spruce top. Top is flat and adorned with a single "f" hole. Besides spruce, many alternative top wood options are available. In the bridge section, Carvin installs an ebony bridge with belly shape and TUSQ saddle. Electronics feature a combination of the L.R. ribbon transducer and dual humbucker setup. There are two controls systems: humbuckers have volume, tone and a three-way toggle, while the acoustic pickup has the tone knob. There is also a knob to pan between these two systems outputs. Neck is made of mahogany and it`s topped with an ebony fingerboard. 24 medium jumbo frets with dot inlays complete the fingerboard specs.
