OM guitars are compact, easy to hold and play. Their main purpose, the reason they were dubbed orchestra models, is to be played in a big band or orchestra as a support instrument. But, not all OMs are backing instruments as many a lead players found the size and shape of OMs a lot more appealing than traditional dreads or jumbos.
L500-O is, though a thoroughbred OM, more oriented towards lead style. Its non-cutaway body is made of solid mahogany (back and sides) and spruce (top). The neck is attached at 12th fret (a trait early steel-strings inherited from the nylon-stringed classical guitar; 14th fret joint was popularized by "concert" guitars) and has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
Other major features include: solid rosewood bridge, vintage headstock, double circle rosette and vintage Grover tuners.
