Concert Tone series banjos were a huge hit back in the `60s. They were played all around the world, and many a professional as well as amateur players played them. But, over the time, the series declined and, eventually, ceased to exist. In recent years, the fans of classic Fender banjos were offered the Folk Music series models (mandolins and resonators were featured in the same series). But, for 2015, Fender has decided to revive the fantastic Concert Tone series. The newly established lineup is formed of a quartet of affordable banjos and one value pack form the series initial lineup. CT 58 is an affordable instrument with five-string construction, Fender hardware and CT series standard design features. Unlike the models ranked beneath it (54 and 55), 58 comes with a Cherry Sunburst color scheme with polyurethane gloss finish. Bridge unit found on the top is a classic two-piece. Metal tailpiece attached tot he rim of the body and movable maple/ebony bridge comprise it. Electronics are, of course, completely absent from the new CT series. Fender aims at pure acoustic pleasure with these five-stringers. Rounded V neck has a dovetail joint in the back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
