Folk series Acoustic-Electric Guitars by Dean
As a majority of American brands do, so does Dean Guitars feature a folk series of resonator guitars, mandolins and banjos. Instead of separating them into individual series, Dean, as Fender, put them all together into one series. it occupies a significant place in Dean`s acoustic section of the catalog and Blackwood 5 is one of three banjo models featured in it. There are also 3 and 6 models with Blackwood name. Blackwood 5 is a five-stringed banjo with regular body shape and construction. Body is made of maple and surrounded with steel rim. Bridge is fixed and it is accompanied by a trapezoid tailpiece. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it is topped with rosewood fingerboard. 22 frets, custom inlays and synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard specs.
