Back in the day, Jumbo was made by Gibson as a response to the ultra popular dreadnought shape. Jumbo series today features a wide variety of cutaway and non-cutaway models, as well as acoustic and acoustic-electric ones. J-185 is a non-cutaway acoustic-electric model with a body made of spruce top and spalted mango back and sides. It is available in natural satin with multi-ply binding. The bridge is made of rosewood and has belly shape, white pins and plastic saddle. Electronics department features Fishman Aura Pro pickup-preamp system with on-board controls. The neck is made of mahogany and has a dovetail joint. Rosewood fingerboard has 20 medium jumbo frets, split parallelogram inlays and a corian string nut. The list price is set at $3,142.
